3 injured in stabbing at Scarborough Town Center Mall, 14-year-old boy in custody – Toronto

Toronto police are investigating after three people were injured when they were stabbed in a mall in Scarborough.

Police said officers received reports of a stabbing at the Scarborough Town Center Mall around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Toronto police Alex Lee told reporters that there was a fight between two groups inside the mall.

When officers arrived, they found three victims with stab wounds, Lee said.

All three were transported to hospital with serious injuries, Lee said.

Police did not say the age of the injured. Lee said investigators believe it was an isolated incident.

Police, along with security at the mall, were able to quickly arrest a 14-year-old boy, Lee said. A knife was also found.

“That was it [at] mall on weekdays, weekday evenings, so there were a lot of members of the public who were inside the mall, they may have witnessed the incident, they may have filmed it with a cell phone camera, ”Lee said. “We urge these members of the public to contact the police.”
