3 killed, 3 injured in the mass shooting on Mother’s Day
DeCalb County Police spent Mother’s Day evening investigating a mass shooting at a residential complex near Memorial that killed three people and injured three others.
DECALB DISTRICT, Georgia – Three people were killed and three others were injured in a shooting at a residential complex next to Memorial Drive on Sunday night.
Decalb County Police said they were called around 7:40 p.m. on Mother’s Day in Block 6500 on Old Hampton Drive in the Brannon Hill apartment complex.
Police say they found five people shot on the spot. Two were transported to a district hospital and the other three were found dead on the spot. Another victim later arrived at the hospital in serious condition.
A crime scene record blocked the entrance to the complex, allowing only entry or exit of official vehicles.
Investigators spent the evening combing the scene for evidence.
