A 65-year-old man died Friday after a two-car collision at the intersection of Merivale and Baseline roads in the city’s west end.

The Ottawa Police Service made the announcement in a release late Friday afternoon.

Patrol officers responded to the scene of the collision shortly before 11 a.m. The police media release said it involved a black 2020 Ford F150 pickup truck pulling an orange trailer and a 2010 Dodge Journey SUV.

The dead man was the driver of the jeep.

The Ottawa Police Service said it would like to hear from witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, including anyone who may have dashcam video of the crash. Anyone with such information was asked to call the OPS Collision Investigation Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 2481.

Four other people were treated, but their injuries were considered minor, Ottawa Paramedics said.
