The RNC is investigating three similar holdups in metro St. John’s

Police are investigating three similar armed robberies within hours of each other Saturday, all in northeast metro St. John’s.

The first happened just after 8am yesterday at a business in the city’s east end, where a man demanded cash while threatening staff with a gun but fled on foot empty-handed.

Less than 30 minutes later, a similar scene played out at a business in Logy Bay, with the male suspect making off with an undisclosed amount of cash, again fleeing the scene.

A third armed robbery was reported a few hours later in the east end of the city, with the suspect again threatening staff with a gun before fleeing with cash in hand.

The RNC did not provide details on the weapons used or the specific businesses that were targeted.

So far, no arrests have been made in either robbery.
