UPDATE: 2 dead, baby injured in multiple collisions in Mississauga and Brampton

Peel Regional Police responded to two overnight collisions in Mississauga and Brampton that left two people dead and an infant injured.

Police were first called to the intersection of Derry Rd. West and Ninth in Mississauga at 10:30 p.m. on July 2 for a two-vehicle collision.

A 20-year-old passenger was found at the scene with serious injuries and later died of his injuries in hospital.

The 20-year-old driver was rushed to hospital and is in serious condition.

The driver of the second vehicle, a man in his 40s, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing.

The intersection was closed in all directions but has now reopened.

Also at 12:30am Peel Regional Police responded to a fatal collision in Brampton on Creditview Rd. and Wanless Dr area.

Police arrived on scene to find a two-car crash, with one of the occupants ejected from the vehicle.

The 29-year-old ejected passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

A family was traveling in the second car, including their nine-month-old baby.

Police say the father escorted the baby into an ambulance while the mother was transported to a trauma center in critical condition.

The family is reported to be doing well and recovering in hospital.

Police said the male driver of the first vehicle was taken into custody on fine-related charges.

Supinder Singh, 29, of Brampton, is charged with operating while impaired causing death and three counts of operating while impaired causing bodily harm.

The Major Collision Bureau was on the scene investigating the seriousness of the injuries.
