Michelle Donnellan became an MP just seven years ago and a university minister just two years ago. Now a loyal minister in Nadhim Zahawi’s department takes over his post.
She becomes the seventh Minister of Education in eight years. The speed with which they are being replaced has become a source of frustration and irritation for school leaders and teachers’ unions.
Before becoming MP for Chippenham, Donnellan, 38, from Cheshire, worked in media and entertainment marketing, including for Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment and the History Channel.
She attended public schools and was the first in her family to graduate from university, graduating from York University with a degree in history and politics.
Donelan claims he wanted to become an MP from the age of six
