RCMP say water tanker driver dead after rollover on Anthony Henday Drive in Edmonton – Edmonton

A 39-year-old man who was driving a water tanker that overturned on Anthony Henday Drive in Edmonton on Friday has died, according to police.

In a news release issued Saturday, Strathcona County RCMP said they hope to hear from more witnesses as they investigate what happened.

Police said emergency crews were called to Anthony Henday Drive next to the Interstate 14 overpass at 1:17 p.m.

“The initial investigation determined that a water tanker traveling southbound swerved, lost control, entered the ditch and overturned,” RCMP said.

The driver, who police say was from Leduc, was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.
