The Mount Pearl Minor Baseball Association announced it is suspending all games until further notice due to the city’s municipal workers’ strike.
In a post on social media Sunday night, the group said it did not want to expose players, parents and staff to potential confrontations where the bollards were placed.
The association says it hopes the strike, which began last week, will be resolved quickly.
In the meantime, they say anyone seeking further information about the situation should contact their city councillor.
