Passengers were ordered to evacuate the international terminal at San Francisco International Airport because of a bomb threat, San Francisco police said Friday evening.
In a statement to The Chronicle, police said they received a bomb threat at 8.15pm on Friday. Upon arrival, they found a suspicious package that was “probably incendiary” and ordered the evacuation of everyone in the international terminal.
SFPD officials said they have taken a man into custody and that people should expect delays at the airport.
The incident also affected transit. AirTrain and BART services were also suspended, airport officials said. All trains on the Millbrae line were bypassing the SFO station, officials said.
Normal operations resumed early Saturday, with check-in counters reopening and BART service returning in the morning, SFO said in a tweet.
