West Shore RCMP say a man believed to be involved in a vehicle theft and break-in that failed to stop for police after several attempts has been identified, thanks to tips from the public.
Police say they are still searching for the suspect, who may be armed and dangerous.
On Tuesday morning, the man suspected to be in possession of a stolen vehicle was observed by witnesses in the area of Admirals and Craigflower roads in View Royal.
He is described as white, five foot seven with a thin build, long dark blonde hair and facial hair and is believed to be in his 30s.
The man was reportedly seen in a black 2010 Dodge Caravan with British Columbia license plate EJ5 05R. The vehicle was reported stolen later this afternoon from a residence in View Royal.
On Wednesday, it was reported that the suspect and the stolen vehicle were involved in multiple residential break and enters and making threats in the Sooke area. One of the burglary investigations involved the theft of a firearm.
That evening, RCMP located the vehicle and made several attempts to stop it between Sooke and Ladysmith.
