A man was fatally shot in a Las Vegas hotel room Thursday night, prompting authorities to lock down the entire building.
The shooting happened in a hotel room on the eighth floor of the Mirage on the Las Vegas Strip, police said.
Two other people are believed to have been injured in the shooting, according to local station 8 News, which cited a source familiar with the investigation.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department asked the public to avoid the area as the situation and investigation is still active. The shooter remains at large.
Videos posted on Twitter showed a heavy police presence at the hotel, and hotel guests said no one was allowed in or out of the building as officers went from room to room to check on guests. In one video, an officer can be seen wearing a ballistic shield.
