British missile drops Russian drone News

A state-of-the-art British missile has dropped a Russian drone from the sky during its first registered use in Ukraine.

Martlet, a light multi-role laser-guided missile (LMM), is believed to have been secretly sent to Ukraine from Britain, but was filmed being fired by a soldier from the 95th Airborne Brigade on Sunday.

Footage of the attack shows the soldier pointing a shoulder launcher at a Orlan-10 reconnaissance drone in the Kharkiv region before firing a rocket at 1,100 miles per hour. Moments later, applause was heard after the warhead hit the plane with a concentrated explosive charge and a fragmentation explosion.

An eight-mile convoy of military vehicles north of the eastern city of Izyum was “clear evidence” that Russia was pursuing its goal.
