Putin says peace talks on Ukraine are deadlocked, promising to continue the fight

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday that the peace talks had reached a dead end and promised that Russian forces would continue to fight until they were done, in his first extended comments on last month’s war.

Russian forces fired on Ukrainian positions and residential areas in the eastern part of the country at night and launched new missile attacks, while strengthening their positions with new air defense systems, Ukrainian authorities said.
