Ottawa convoy organizer Pat King’s hearing to review the bail was halted abruptly and unexpectedly just hours after Wednesday.
The Ontario Supreme Court was hearing evidence on whether to release King on bail after his lawyer asked for a review of the court’s original decision to keep him in jail pending trial.
The details of these latest proceedings are subject to a ban on publication and cannot be shared out of court.
The court also banned any publication on the reason for the sudden postponement, at least until the court resumes on Thursday.
King was a key figure in the three-week protest against the restrictions on COVID-19 and the federal government, which is crowded in central Ottawa with big trucks, blocking streets and horns at all times.
He faces 10 charges related to his involvement, including mischief, intimidation, obstruction of police and disobedience to court orders.
King was denied bail on February 25.
On Wednesday, he appeared freshly shaven, in jeans, a gray flannel shirt, and a brown cardigan with hair in a neat braid.
The hearing was originally expected to last two days.
