SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The Sacramento Police Department said officers were involved in a chase that led to shootings Thursday night.
The chase began shortly after 6:40 p.m. in the area of 23rd Avenue and 44th Street in the Oak Park area. The suspect eventually made his way on Highway 50 and Folsom.

The Sacramento County Sheriff said lawmakers were helping Sacramento police try to catch the suspect on Folsom Boulevard. Heavy police activity descended near Folsom Premium Outlets. Folsom police have advised residents to avoid the area while law enforcement is on the scene.

East Highway 50 on Folsom Boulevard and Highway 50 west on Prairie City Road were closed due to the investigation, the sheriff’s office said shortly after 9 p.m.

It is unclear whether anyone was injured.
