Thousands of worshipers gathered at the mosque two weeks after Ramadan and with great tension after a series of attacks.

It says at least three officers were injured and forced to act after stones were thrown at the Western Wall, a Jewish holy site.
Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhum described the violence as “brutal attacks by Israeli occupying forces on worshipers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque”.
The Palestinians see any major police deployment in Al-Aqsa as a major provocation.
The mosque is the third holiest site in Islam and was built on top of a hill, which is the holiest site for the Jews, who call it the Temple Mount.
This has been a major hotbed of Israeli-Palestinian violence for decades. Clashes there last year sparked an 11-day war with extremists in the Gaza Strip.
Easter, Ramadan and Easter coincide this year, and millions of Jews, Muslims and Christians are expected in Jerusalem in the next few days.
Israel recently suffered one of its worst series of attacks in years, killing 14 and wounding dozens in various cities.
Sky News correspondent for the Middle East Alistair Bunkal said they were carried out by a mixture of Palestinians, Arab Israelis and Bedouins.
At least 25 Palestinians have been killed in response to Israeli arrests and attacks in the occupied West Bank.
Many have carried out attacks or participated in the riots, but the dead include an unarmed woman and a lawyer who appear to have been killed by mistake.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced on Friday that a 17-year-old had died from wounds received in the West Bank city of Jenin the day before.
