Recent data show that between April 8 and April 14, there were 2,335 people who were confirmed positive for Covid in Cornwall and the Isle of Wight.
Visitors to the Lincolnshire coast have received similar guidelines for wearing masks on public holidays over the weekend.
Craig Leyland, head of the East Lindsay County Council, which covers the resorts of Skegnes and Mabelthorpe, said people should wear masks in crowded places and continue to wash their hands regularly.
“We want to welcome the people of our fantastic coast and Walds and all the other attractions we have, but we just ask people … to make sure the virus doesn’t spread unnecessarily,” he told BBC Look North.
A public health spokesman in Lincolnshire also called on visitors to take “personal responsibility” as “Covid is still with us”.
Advice from the councils is coming, although coronavirus cases are falling in most of the UK, according to the latest ONS figures.
A public health consultant at the Cornwall Council said people were usually “very respectful” during their visits.
Brian O’Neill told BBC Breakfast: “I think people in general are still careful. People make room for each other … in general, the visitors we see down in Cornwall at the moment are very respectful and use the facilities available.
“Our hospitality industry is working incredibly hard to keep things safe.”
In the week ending April 9, about 4.42 million people had Covid-19, about one in 15, down from one in 13 last week.
