Fans of Man United lit signals as they protested against Glaser
Manchester United have insisted that improving their relations with fans is a priority in a statement issued after their vicious victory over Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.
Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed a hat-trick after United overcame the return of the Canaries to win 3-2 and increase their hopes of ranking in the top 4 in the Premier League. The match was played against a background of toxic atmosphere, while supporters protested against the owners of the club, the Glaser family.
Many Red Devils fans are fierce against the Glazers, and tensions have risen since last year’s failure of the European Super League, when protests led to the storming of Old Trafford. The unrest with the owners has only increased this season as a result of poor results on the ground and the trophy drought that stretched five years ago.

A new demonstration against the Glazers was planned after the 1-0 defeat by Everton last weekend Mirror sport understands that police were due to be called to United Carrington base on Friday after angry fans violated security at the training ground. Before the match against Norwich, more than 2,000 supporters gathered and fired rockets to express their dissatisfaction with the situation in the Old Trafford boardroom.
There was also hostility on the pitch, with Paul Pogba being booed by home fans when he was replaced in the middle of the second half after United squandered their two-goal lead. There was also the chanting “you’re not fit to wear the shirt” aimed at the hosts before Ronaldo summoned the winner with a free kick and ensured that he took the ball home. This leaves the “red devils” three points behind the fourth-placed “spurs” and are ahead of the “gunners” by goal difference, although the latter have a match in hand.
