Katz’s Deli owner denies reports accusing subway shooter Frank James ate at his restaurant before his arrest

Katz’s Deli owner denies reports that accused Brooklyn subway shooter Frank James had lunch at the famous diner hours before he was arrested. James, who faces terrorism charges after allegedly setting fire to a subway car on Tuesday, led cops in New York on a day-long search before being caught in an incident that injured two dozen. Citing a police source, the New York Daily News reported that James made several stops before eventually coming to power, including having lunch at the legendary Lower East Side delicacy. But Katz’s Deli owner Jake Dell told the New York Post that none of his employees remembered seeing James – and he hadn’t seen the 62-year-old in any of the restaurant’s “over 60” surveillance cameras. “We watched the video, we didn’t see it,” Dell said, adding that police never showed up at Katz’s and asked for their video. “I don’t even know who this source is,” the owner added to a previous report, which named his delicacy. It just looks like lazy reporting to me.
