Easter is a time when rabbits, eggs and the blood of Christ gather for a very confusing holiday. But what people love most about this day are the candies. Move over Michael Myers, the Easter Bunny has beaten you! And while we all agree that the TRUE holiday is Monday’s Cheap Ass Easter Candy (when all Easter candies go on sale), we as humans can’t decide which candy is the best in the group. Instacart conducted a survey to crown the winner and the results are interesting.
Now I would like to anticipate the results of this study with a friendly tip: do not start arguing about whether a cream egg is better than a mini egg or not. Let us keep this debate civil. After all, we are not on Twitter! Anyway, Instacart asked more than 2,000 people for their thoughts on Easter candies and provided a convenient ranking system to argue with! via Fox59:
According to a recent Instacart survey of more than 2,000 Americans, more than half of respondents (65%) say Easter has the best seasonal candy. But which delicacies are the best of the best?
Instacart has created the top ten on the list of favorite Easter candies in America, and chocolate treats differ from most places.
Number one on the list is the delicacy that will forever be associated with Easter: the Cadbury Egg Cream. This is followed by Reese peanut butter eggs, which some people swear are better than a regular Reese cup.
Starburst Easter Jelly Beans were the most popular chocolate-free option at No. 3, followed by Brach’s Jelly Bird Eggs at No. 8 and PEEPS Yellow Marshmallow Chicks at No. 9.
NADZIVA! How did PEEPS get the short end of the stick here ?! They are typically Easter. Why do we refuse to collectively enjoy marshmallows painted in neon yellow and pink! But the United States decided it was really a battle between the Cadbury Cream Egg and the Reese Peanut Butter Egg.
Instacart has also created a map of the United States outlining which candies each state cannot live without. This is where you will find out which freaks are the countries that put jelly beans on top (I see you, FLORIDA !!!).
The only thing that can clear the palate is if Mariah Carey makes another Easter post in which she settles the dispute while wearing her sexiest outfit for an Easter bunny. This is the only way to heal the great division of this nation!
