Peter Kay arrives before the long – awaited return to the scene in 2021
Peter Kay has proven to be more fun than ever as he returned to the stage after five long years this weekend.
The 48-year-old comedian and versatile talent stormed the stage at Manchester Center, where he treated fans to a three-hour show with songs by artists including S Club 7 and Abba.
The entertainer launched Dance for Life in 2016 to raise money for Cancer Research UK, and his last event was postponed to 2020.
Peter’s latest show marks one of the comedian’s first public appearances since he was forced to cancel a major tour in 2017, citing “unforeseen family circumstances.”
And after five long years, he took the stage with an epic joke that made the whole audience howl.

After arriving on stage twenty minutes late, Peter joked, “I’m sorry we’re late, they’re a little slow.
“Many of you will no longer have the opportunity to dance. If you’re like me, it will be every four years of a wedding for about 11 minutes until something modern is played and you sit down because you feel about 100 “
The proceeds of the epic tour will be donated to Cancer Research UK, and the event will be announced as a “dance party that will change lives”.
Last month, Peter joined Instagram to promote his new tour.

Peter’s new Instagram account contains only two photos – one showing a shot of the comedian, and the other is an advertising poster for his new show.
“Additional tickets for Peter Kay’s Dance for Life in Manchester and Liverpool have just been released,” the caption said.
This comes after Peter canceled his tour in December 2017, citing “unforeseen family circumstances” as a reason to stop it.
He then took to Twitter to make the shocking message.
“Due to unforeseen family circumstances, I deeply regret that I have to cancel all upcoming work projects.

“Unfortunately, this includes my upcoming stand-up tour, the Dance for Life show and all sorts of exceptional live work commitments.
“My sincerest apologies. This decision was not taken lightly and I am sure you will understand that my family should always come first. “
Dance For Life heads to Alexandra in London on April 29.
He will then return for two nights to Liverpool’s Space from the M&S Bank Arena on 19 and 20 August.
