The investigation began after a man was stabbed in front of the Snooker Center in Gateshead

An investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed in front of a billiard room in Gateshead.

Northumbria police officers were present at the scene shortly after 4.30pm on Saturday (April 16th) following reports of a stabbing near the Durham Road snooker center. It was established that a man was injured in an attack and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A police investigation into the incident is currently under way, with officers searching for two suspects in connection with the stabbing. Officers remained at the scene Sunday morning as investigations continued.

A spokesman for the force said: “We were called to Durham Road in Gateshead shortly after 4.30pm after reports of a man being stabbed at the Snooker Center on Durham Road. The male victim was taken to hospital with no life-threatening injuries and our investigation is underway into the incident. ”

He added that the victim said that two people were allegedly involved in the incident. No arrests have been made yet, and an investigation into their whereabouts is ongoing.

He added: “During the incident, the victim stated that he was attacked by two people and investigations are underway to find them.”
