Manchester United’s hat-trick hero Cristiano Ronaldo passed the ball to youngster Alejandro Garnacho after helping Ralph Rangnik’s team beat Norwich City in the Premier League.
Ronaldo’s goals helped Rangnik’s team secure an unconvincing victory, with goals from Kieran Dowell and Tiemu Puki returning the Premier League to 2-0 to 2-2 before the veteran winner. However, after both Tottenham and Arsenal lost, the result lifted United back into the Champions League.
The young Garnacho was included in the Premier League team for the first time in the match, although he remained on the bench after United won. And after describing his teammate as “the greatest of all time”, the teenager was awarded by Ronaldo after the match.
Cristiano Ronaldo set an impressive record for the 17th consecutive season with a hat-trick at Manchester United
Garnacho’s first appearance in the match came after he was first called up to the Argentine team in March. He has now trained with Ronaldo and Lionel Messi before making his senior bow.
The 17-year-old played for United under 21 at the Papa John’s Trophy and joined the team for the Norwich match along with his academy colleague, the talented Hannibal. His role comes from starring in the FA Youth Cup, with Garnacho scoring five goals and three assists in five games to help his team reach the final.
He failed to come out on the field, with Rangnik choosing to bring out Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford. After the match, however, he could be seen exchanging words with Ronaldo as the veteran passed the ball.

Rangnik spoke radiantly about Garnacho before the match, telling MUTV: “He has been training with us for the last two weeks and is one of the most promising players. He is only 17, but if he keeps his feet on the ground, he will not only sit on the bench, but play for this club. ”
Ronaldo’s hat-trick was his third for United and second since his return to the club in August. However, Rangnik warned his team that he should not rely on magic from his goal scorer.
“We should not rely only on him,” the German told the BBC after the match. “It is still possible [to get top four]the results have been good elsewhere, but again, it doesn’t make sense to look only at other results – we need to make sure we increase our performance and become more physical. ”
Thanks to the defeat of the Spurs at noon at home by Brighton and the loss of Arsenal to Southampton, United are only three points away from the top four with six games to play. However, their next match in the league is against the title chaser Liverpool and Rangnik admitted that the team must be the best to have a chance to win.
