Nicola Sturgeon reported to police after she was accused of violating the rules for Covid face masks

Nicolas Sturgeon was reported to Scottish police after she was accused of violating Covid’s laws, as a video appeared in which she communicates with people indoors without wearing a mask.

While campaigning ahead of Scotland’s local elections, the first minister visited Icoic Gents Hair in East Kilbride, where the video was shot.

The bulletin cuts through the noise

The video shows Ms. Sturgeon mingling with clients and employees indoors without a mask. The first minister patted a man’s head in a barber’s chair, mimicking the sound of an electric razor.

This is because until tomorrow, Scotland has laws that require people to wear face masks indoors in public places, such as hairdressers and malls.

From Easter Monday onwards, this law will become a guide that the Prime Minister herself has strongly encouraged others to follow.

Following the video’s appearance, Jane Lax, a former treasurer of the Moray Conservative Association, accused the first minister of “pure arrogance” and claimed to have reported it to Scottish police.

The video shows how Nicola Sturgeon does not wear a face mask in a public setting.

She tweeted: “I’ve had enough of Nicole Sturgeon’s contempt and pure arrogance.

“Someone has to report her to the police in Scotland, and since the opposition parties are not holding her accountable, I will have to be the little old self.

“She needs more than me to do it.

“I am sure that the Scottish police will not do anything about it, but if we do nothing, we are complicit in its ability to ridicule us.

Scottish police say they are currently evaluating the report.

A spokesman for the Scottish Police said: “We can confirm that we have received a complaint, which is currently being considered.”

Commenting on the video, a SNP spokesman said: “The first minister was invited to a barber shop during an outdoor visit to the street.

“Within seconds, she realized she hadn’t put her mask back on, and she put it on right away.”

Opposition members said the video showed “outright hypocrisy” in the prime minister’s game.

A spokesman for the Scottish Conservatives in Health, Dr Sandesh Gulhane, MSP, said: “The video clearly shows that Nicola Sturgeon does not practice what he preaches on face masks.

“She is happy to signal official photos, but behind closed doors it is clear that she does not believe in her own rules, so why need someone else.

“This is outright hypocrisy on the part of the first minister, who has now shown his true color.

“The public, which has been under these legal restrictions from Covid for more than two years, deserves an apology for this breach of the rules.

In December 2020, Ms. Sturgeon apologized for violating Covid’s rules by removing her face mask at a funeral.

She described it as a “stupid mistake” and said, “I’m really sorry.”

They contacted the Scottish Government for comment.

On Easter Monday, the legal requirement to wear face masks in public places and public transport across Scotland has been lifted.

Speaking about the guidelines for face masks, which the government strongly advised after the repeal of legal requirements, the first minister said that Covid-19 is “still there”, adding: “Wearing a face mask is a little protection you can give not only to yourself, but also to people you may be around – including people who may be more clinically vulnerable. “
