Swimmers appreciated the higher temperatures as hundreds headed to the North Sea for Felixstowe’s rescheduled Christmas day.
The event, which helps the St. Elizabeth Hospice, was postponed due to extreme weather, but returned for its 17th year on Easter.
One of the many ‘dippers’ participating in this year’s event was Tim Kenny.

Concluding Dip for the third time, he said: “What a brilliant way to start Easter. It had a great atmosphere and it’s just wonderful to bring Dip back into its physical format; and the water was a little warmer than usual at Christmas!
“It’s such a brilliant event, backed by a fantastic local charity, and I’m looking forward to Christmas later this year.”
Returning for the 17th time, the event saw the ‘dippers’ wear a range of luxury outfits before diving into the icy cold sea of Felixstowe Beach.

The funds raised through the swimmer’s sponsorship will help Hospice St Elizabeth continue to provide free care to more than 3,000 patients and their families in East Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney.
The Easter Sunday event saw swimmers take to the water at 10 a.m. against the Mannings Amusement.

Becky Jedzeevski, raising funds for events and challenges at the St. Elizabeth Hospice, said: “Congratulations to all our divers this year for their fantastic efforts!
“As always, the dive was filled with fun and a great atmosphere. Since we could not host The Dip in 2020 and had to postpone Christmas for 2021, it was so nice to be able to host the event in its traditional format this Easter Sunday.
“We look forward to hosting Christmas Day later this year, so expect updates in the fall on how to register your place.”
