Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William missed Harry and Megan’s visit to the UK as the family spent most of the Easter holidays skiing. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex flew to the United Kingdom to visit Queen and Prince Charles on their way to the Invictus Games in The Hague. Military historian Christopher Jol claims that the couple has managed to reconcile with the family.
Speaking to LBC, Mr Jol said: “The Invictus Games and the absence of Cambridge have given them the perfect opportunity to stop by for a drink and a little reconciliation.
“There are no surprises there.
“It really paves the way for their return for the platinum anniversary celebrations.”
Asked by host Camilla Tomini how Cambridge would feel sharing a balcony with Sussex, the historian continued: “I don’t think that’s the big deal.

“I think this is a personal problem in the royal family that they have solved with each other.
“I think there’s a much, much bigger problem, which is that by ceasing to be a full-time member of the royal family, Harry and Megan have put themselves in a very awkward position.
“What they are doing now are commercial celebrities.
“They do things they get paid for; multimillion-dollar contracts with Netflix, among others. “
On Thursday night, a spokesman for the couple confirmed that they had visited the Queen before their appearance at the Invictus Games, which open this weekend.
Joe Little, managing editor of Majesty Magazine, described it as “very welcome but long overdue” by Harry and Megan.
Earlier this week, Dai Davis, a former head of royal defense at Scotland Yard, told the PA news agency that the idea that Harry could not come to the UK due to security concerns was “pure unadulterated nonsense”, adding that the duke “is not a security expert.”
Speaking about possible security measures in The Hague, Mr Davis said: “The truth is that I have no doubt that he will be protected, whether he takes his own team or the Dutch authorities give him some kind of VIP status.
“The truth is that if there is a risk, both countries – ours and the Netherlands – have complex systems for determining risk.”
