The parents of a Moscow sailor said on Monday that their son, who had served on the ship since last summer as a cook, is now missing.
Irina Shkrebets, Yegor Shkrebets’ mother, told Russia’s The Insider media that she and her husband went to a hospital in Crimea over the weekend, where they saw about 200 Moscow sailors with severe burns, hoping to find their son.
“I saw every child who got burned. “I can’t describe how difficult it was, but I didn’t find my child,” she said.
“There were 200 people (in the hospital), while there were more than 500 people on the cruiser. Where are the others? “
She said local security officials had rejected her requests to see a list of those killed and missing by Moscow.
