Traffic is expected to stop in Belfast on Easter Monday due to parades taking place in the city.

Delays can be expected on April 18 and again on Tuesday, April 19.

A spokesman for Trafficwatch NI said: “Belfast traffickers are advised to expect some traffic disruption in the coming days due to a number of parades and cultural events in the following areas:

Monday, April 18

  • Area on the Donegal Pass from 7.45 am
  • Ormeau Road (Ballynafeigh area) from 9.30 am.
  • Pitt Place, Newtownards Road, Templemore, Albertbridge Road and Ballymacarrett Road from 10.30 am, then again from 3.00 pm
  • Clifton Street travels to Royal Avenue from 11 a.m. on the same route from 2:30 p.m.
  • Crumlin Road, Shankill Road, Woodvale and Clifton Street, with a parade traveling downtown to Sandy Row between 10:30 and 16:00.

Tuesday, April 19

  • Shankil Road, Peters Hill to Royal Avenue from 10.30 to 11.30 and then from 17.00 in the area of ​​Shankil Road.
  • Ormeau Road (Ballynafeigh area) from 11 am to 1 pm and then again from 4.45 pm to 5.30 pm.
  • Mount Merrion, Bells Bridge and Ladas Drive from 4 p.m.
  • Albertbridge Road from 10.45 am and then again from 4.30 pm on Templemore Avenue, Albertbridge Road.
  • Fax Street through the Oldpark and Ardoyne areas from 13:00 to 16:00.
