A woman was arrested by homicide detectives investigating the death of an 18-year-old man on Saturday.
Merseyside police were called to London Road in central Liverpool after a young man was found seriously injured in an internet café. Police and paramedics were called around 5:50 p.m. on April 16 after reports that a teenager had been attacked.
He was taken to Royal Liverpool Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police have since launched a murder investigation, while investigations into the victim’s death have continued.

Tonight, police confirmed that they had arrested a 34-year-old woman from Fazakerli on suspicion of helping an offender. She is currently in custody, where she is being questioned by criminal investigators.
Detective Chief Inspector Terry Davis said: “Although we have made an arrest, our investigations are still ongoing. The incident happened in a busy area of downtown Liverpool on Saturday night.

“We know that there were many people standing at bus stops on London Road, passing TJ Hughes or driving on London Road, who may have witnessed this incident or a vehicle driving incorrectly at the time. I want to urge these people to come forward so we can talk to them. In the same way, anyone who may have cell phone recordings or camera footage, please go ahead. “

On Monday afternoon, several bouquets of flowers were left right in front of the police cordon, which remains in place in front of the internet cafe. Following the news of the man’s death, people across the city shared their messages of support for his grieving family.
One person, who did not want to be named, told ECHO: “It’s so sad in broad daylight. Eighteen is such a young age, they’ve had their whole life ahead of them. Our thoughts on family right now.”

Another passer-by said, “My heart breaks for them, another life is too early.” A third said, “This is absolutely devastating.”
Detectives investigating the murder want to talk to people who have been spotted standing at a bus stop on London Road and passing TJ Hughes during the incident, who may have witnessed the incident. They also appealed to the driver of a vehicle that was seen to be driving incorrectly at the time.
A large police cordon was set up on Saturday night with about 12 police cars and minibuses at the scene, as well as forensic scientists and paramedics. A smaller police cordon remains in place as the investigation continues.
