Houston – A man has been arrested and charged after a woman’s body was found in a box in southwest Houston on Sunday, Houston Police Department officials said.
According to the HPD, they received reports after a maintenance man found a suspicious box with a bad smell in Bissonnet’s 7000 unit around 11:58 p.m.
Houston firefighters were the first to arrive and found the body in the box, authorities said.
“In the surveillance video, you see a man carrying a U-Haul box in a wheelchair, and they bring it here, drop it, and walk away from the scene,” said HPD detective Matthew Huey.
Detectives told KPRC 2 that they had detained a man who is likely to be charged with molesting a corpse.
Police say they are working to determine if he is the man in the video.
“I could not comment on his reason or motivation for why he returned to the stage,” Huey said.
