A man and a woman were arrested after the death of a boy in Edgebaston. Emergency services were called to a one-year-old child who was in cardiac arrest at Laxey Road on Saturday night (April 16th).
He was taken to hospital, but unfortunately died. A 35-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of a child and have been released on bail, West Midlands police have confirmed.
A West Midlands police spokesman said: “We were warned about a one-year-old boy with cardiac arrest at Laxey Road, Birmingham, on Saturday night (April 16th). The baby was taken to hospital, but tragically died.
“A 25-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of a child and were released on bail while investigations continued.
Laxey Road is primarily a residential street on the border of Edgbaston and Smethwick in the Black Country.
