Prince Harry wants to “protect” the queen and ensure that the “right people” are around her Prince Harry

Prince Harry said the queen was “in great shape” during their recent meeting and that he wanted to make sure she had “the right people around her”.

Speaking to the NBC Today Show about her meeting with the monarch, Harry said: “It was great to be with her, it was just so nice to see her, she’s in great shape.

Harry and his wife Megan also met the Prince of Wales after arriving from their home in the United States before traveling to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games, which the Duke founded and is now a private patron.

Harry said of the Queen: “She always has a great sense of humor with me and I just make sure she’s protected and has the right people around her.

“Megan and I had tea with her, so it was really nice to catch up with her.

The duke added that although he likes to visit the United Kingdom and see his grandmother, his home remains in the United States.

“My home right now is in the United States, and I feel that way,” he said. “We were welcomed with open arms and we have such a great community in Santa Barbara.”

The couple moved to California after their decision to step down as dignitaries in 2020, saying they wanted a new life of personal and financial freedom. The Duke’s visit to Britain is his third since March 2020.

The Queen, who is celebrating her 96th birthday on Thursday, had to retire from several events, including a church service on Easter, due to mobility problems.

The Invictus Games, which end on Friday, include 500 wounded or sick soldiers and veterans from 20 nations competing in Adaptive Sports Week.

Harry is suing the government for its police protection in Britain.

The full interview for NBC’s Today Show will be broadcast on Wednesday, with the Duke sitting with Hoda Cott.
