The Trump-backed candidate removed from the Tennessee vote; Biden will host military leaders

Senator Tim Scott, the only black Republican in the Senate and someone often mentioned as a contender for the White House in 2024, tried in a speech Tuesday night to disprove those who “question my blackness.”

Scott appeared at the Reagan Library in Sammy Valley, California, as part of the Time for a Choice series of speakers, which has been declared a platform for leading voices in the conservative movement. In his speech, Scott shared how his personal life has made him on the path to conservative politics and spared no words about those who questioned his choice.

“So for those of you on the left, you can call me a prop, you can call me a token, you can call me the word N, you can question my Blackness, you can even call me Uncle Tim,” Scott said. “Just understand that what you call me does not correspond to the proof of my life. Your words do not correspond to my evidence. Your pessimism does not correspond to the truth of my story.

Scott is apparently trying to boost his national performance with a view to 2024. He is considered a potential Republican presidential candidate or a leading contender to be Donald Trump’s candidate if the former president wants to return.

During a speech at Fox News in February, Scott signaled openness to the latter.

“I think everyone wants to be on President Trump’s line without any questions,” Scott said.
