The fugitive killer, who viciously stabbed Queens’ mother Orsol Gaal at her home in Forest Hills, left behind a vital clue – a pair of blood-soaked boots, a police source said Wednesday.
Police are now conducting DNA tests on the boots, which cops found in a trash can in front of the Tudor-style home garage where Gaal was stabbed nearly 60 times early Saturday, a senior New York police officer told The Post.
A foreman who worked at the Juneau Street home – and who according to sources had a connection to Gaal – is wanted for questioning for the murder, but cops have not yet identified a public figure who is of interest or suspect in the case.
Gaal, 51, went to a show at Lincoln Center with friends on Friday night – and then hung out at a bar in her neighborhood, sources said.
A Forest Hills Station House manager told The Post on Wednesday that the married mother of two had her “usual Moscow mule” and was left alone around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police believe Gaal was followed home by her killer, who, after killing her, put her in a luggage bag and dumped her body less than a mile from her home.
A grainy video from the neighborhood camera of the bell caught a mysterious figure dragging a bloody bag from Gaal’s home around 4:30 a.m. A local man walking his dog found the remains about four hours later.
Cops said there were no signs of forced entry into the home, leading detectives to suspect the killer knew Gaal as well as the home.
Sources said the master knew where the family kept the spare key.
An electrician who said he worked for Gaal and her husband Howard Klein showed up at the home to pay his respects on Tuesday, telling The Post that he knew her very well and didn’t know about any family problems. The electrician also told Fox News that there was a separate door leading to the basement of the house, which he said was equipped with security cameras.
Police filled the quiet residential community with search posters and offered a $ 3,500 reward for information leading them to the killer.
