One man was killed and another was injured after being stabbed twice in Manchester Manchester

A man died and another was injured during a double stabbing in Manchester.

Manchester police said officers were called by ambulance to an incident on Pollard Street in the Ancots area around 6.30pm on Wednesday.

The forces said a man believed to be in his twenties had been pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been notified.

Another 20-year-old man has leg injuries and has been hospitalized, police said.

The DCI Wes Knights, from the force’s major incidents team, called on anyone with information or video footage to come out.

He said: “I send our condolences to the relatives of the person who unfortunately died and our good wishes to the person who is being treated in hospital.

“Specially trained officers will be sent to support them.

“We are at an early stage of our investigation, but we are conducting extensive investigations to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident.

“Members of the public should expect to see additional officers in Ankouts in the coming days.

“While officers are gathering evidence from the scene and the surrounding area, I would like to take this opportunity to urge anyone with information to share it with us – it can also be done anonymously through Crimestoppers.

“Also, anyone who has footage from Dashcam from Ancoats tonight should contact us.”
