Three places at the eastern end were locked by emergency services after a man was stabbed in a Drygate apartment.
Police were called in for the incident at around 7.35am this morning, with the block closed, as well as Cathedral Street and Collins Street.
The man, in his 20s, was found wounded on Collins Street and is now being taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment for stab wounds.
The area remains secluded from the public.

A spokesman said: “At around 7:35 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, police were called to report a riot on Collins Street, Glasgow.
“A 20-year-old man was found wounded and taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he is being treated for stab wounds.
“Serious attacks on a residential building in Drygate are currently being investigated.
“Officers are following a number of lines of investigation into this incident.”
