This is the moment when John Cole and a young man were caught by CCTV cameras taking Logan Mwangi’s dead body out of the student’s home. The lifeless five-year-old will be thrown into a river just minutes later.
Grainy footage taken from Angarad Williamson’s home in 5 Lower Llansantffraid, Sarn, Bridgend, was key evidence used to convict his mother, stepfather and young man of murder. At 2:43 a.m. on July 31, 2021, Cole, 40, could be seen leaving the apartment and appeared to be wearing something depicted as a bright cross. It was actually Logan’s hands hanging over his killer’s back.
When Cole crossed the road to make his way to Pandie Park just meters away, he was immediately followed by the young man. It would be obvious to him what Cole was wearing. The two entered the park and turned left before heading down the Ogmore River until they reached a sewer pipe. It was in this secluded place that Logan was dumped and left in the cold running water until he was found by police the next day. He was barefoot and wore inappropriate pajamas.

After discarding the little boy’s body, Cole and the young man casually returned to Lower Lansantfried and returned to the apartment at 2:51 p.m. But that was not the end of the matter. At 3.16 in the morning, both were caught again by video surveillance leaving the property and heading to the park.
He could not be seen in the footage, but Cole was wearing a torn multicolored dinosaur pajama top that belonged to Logan and was damaged at the time of the student’s death. He and the young man took the same route again before throwing off their pajamas in the woods of Pandy Park before returning to 5 Lower Llansantffraid for the last time at 3.27am.

As Cole and the young man left the apartment, video surveillance detected activity in Logan’s bedroom. The lights were on and the curtains were drawn at 2.44 in the morning, just a minute after Cole and the young man left. The lights were on and off all morning, before and after Logan’s body was removed from the property, and the curtains were also visible to move.

Williamson would later claim to have slept from 10:45 pm to 5:30 am on the night of July 30 and the morning of July 31, and said she really believed Logan had disappeared when she called 999. But CCTV told a different story with Williamson, the only person in the apartment who could use the lights. The three killers were later found guilty of killing Logan after a trial in Cardiff Court.
