One of the most spectacular holiday displays in the Central Okanagan lights up tonight at Mission Hill Family Estate Winery in West Kelowna.

The winery is hosting its sixth annual Festival of Trees in support of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of British Columbia.

The sold-out light event begins at 5 p.m

“This will be a family-friendly, fun-filled event that will really culminate the start of the festive season,” says General Manager Graham Nordin. “From 5 to 8 p.m., there will be holiday treats, mulled wine, hot chocolate, an opportunity to view and vote for your favorite tree. We’ll also have a special visit from Santa and have photos with him.”

Local businesses, organizations and private groups have donated at least $1,000 each to sponsor a tree.

Between Saturday, November 26 and January 3, 2023, you can book Festival of Trees wine experiences, with a percentage of the proceeds from each experience going to BCCHF.

“They will be guided by one of our winery sommeliers. This will include a tour of our underground barrel cellar, which is the first time we actually have decorated trees in the cellar,” Nordin explains.

Tickets include a tasting of Terroir and Legacy collections paired with seasonally inspired small bites surrounded by the glow of the stunning trees.

Mission Hill Family Estate Winery will also match any donations made by wine club members who visit for a free tasting during the fundraising dates.

This year, Delta Hotels by Marriot Grand Okanagan Resort joined with the winery to host the Okanagan Festival of Trees. The total fundraising goal is $100,000.
