Environment Canada has issued a snow warning for Calgary and some areas north and west of the city.
Ten to 15 centimeters of snow is expected to fall before decreasing on Friday afternoon.
“Rapidly accumulating snow can make it difficult to travel in some places,” the agency wrote on its website.
“Visibility can be suddenly reduced sometimes in heavy snow. Take frequent breaks and avoid stress when clearing snow.
The snow warning covers Calgary, as well as Airdrie, Cochrane, Olds, Sundre, Rocky Mountain House and Caroline.
The storm forced the organizers of the Calgary Expo to cancel the prisoners of war! The parade of wonders, which was to pass through the city center on Friday.
The city says that all the sweeping of the streets, scheduled for Friday, has been canceled due to snowfall.

Friday’s snowstorm was the second to hit Calgary this week. The biggest one-day snow of the year fell in the city on Tuesday. The amount of snowfall varies throughout the city, from 15 centimeters to reports of up to 30 centimeters in northwestern Calgary.
