A major investigation is under way after a body was found at Good Hope Hospital. Police were called after a man’s body was found in a car in a parking lot near the emergency and emergency entrance at 4.50pm on Friday (April 22nd).
Police said they were trying to identify the deceased. Sutton Coldfield Hospital remains open to the public.
Part of the parking lot was cut off while detectives and detectives conducted their investigation. It is expected to remain closed until at least Saturday afternoon.

A spokesman for the West Midlands police said: “We are investigating after the body of a man believed to be in his late 50s was found in a car at Good Hope Hospital, Sutton Coldfield. The cause of death of the man is unknown.
“From the moment we were called at 4.50 pm on Friday, April 22, we have been working hard to identify the man. We work closely with the hospital and are making good progress.

“The parking area is closed while detectives and forensic scientists inspect the scene. The area will be closed until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest. ”

An eyewitness said: “It was about 8 pm. The crime scene is near the entrance of the ambulance. The car is behind a police van and is stuck.
“A staff member told me it was a crime scene. There is a police car parked outside one of the descent areas.
“I could not get to the normal entrance of A&E. The CID is on the scene and the car has just arrived to support police incidents. “
