A woman had to be rescued by firefighters after falling into a toilet while trying to find her cell phone, which was accidentally dropped into her.
The unnamed woman was on top of Walker Mountain in the National Olympic Forest, northwest of Seattle, Washington, when the incident happened near a parking lot.
She was using her phone when he suddenly fell into the vault toilet, according to The Kitsap Sun.
The vaulted toilet is a non-flush toilet that is built with a vault or a sealed container that is buried deep in the ground.
Brinon Fire Chief Tim Manley said the 40-year-old woman managed to remove the toilet seat and used dog leashes to try to pick up the phone.
When that didn’t work, she used the wires to tie herself to the toilet until she reached for it, but that caused her to fall headfirst.
Mr Manley said: “They didn’t work very well and she came in.”
He added that the woman had been trying to escape for 10 to 15 minutes because she was alone.
She then called 911 after reuniting with her phone in the bathroom.
Firefighters walked past her blocks to get up to reach for a belt when they arrived and pulled her out of the vault.
The Brinon Fire Department added that it said it was unharmed in Tuesday’s incident.
After being washed away, the department said she was “strongly encouraged to seek medical help after being exposed to human waste, but she just wanted to leave.”
Mr Manley said: “I’ve been doing this for 40 years and it was the first time.”
