Nearly a month after Will Smith was hit live on television at the Oscars, Chris Rock spent time on stage during his Ego Death world tour to confront the scandalous incident. Ahead of the nearly sold-out Baltimore crowd on Friday, The Baltimore Sun reported that the 57-year-old Rock said he had some “cuts and bruises,” but “for the most part I’ve healed.” During his 90-minute set, Rock explored what he described as the country’s growing sensitivity to ridicule. “America is in trouble,” said the Brooklyn-born comedian, because “everyone is afraid they will offend someone.” Rock added: “Words only hurt if you’ve never been hit in the face.” The Sun reports that some tickets for the show were over $ 600.
