A man died after an attack in downtown Nottingham. There are several police cars at the scene. Upper Parliament Street closed in the early hours of Sunday, April 24.
He is believed to have been attacked moments earlier on nearby Broad Street. A police cordon has been built in the area, which will remain in place for most of the day. There will also be traffic deviations.
Nottingham Public Transport (NCT) said nine of its bus services are unable to serve the street. In a tweet around 7 am, the operator said: “Lilac, blue and red line services are diverted when entering the city due to an incident on Parliament Street.
Affected services are 25, 26, 27, 39, 40, 41, 43 and 44. “Buses are normal routes to Pryzm and then will depart via Glasshouse Street, left Huntingdon Street, left Woodborough Road, left Mansfield Road, left on “Milton Street and then straight into Parliament Street to the normal route and their end point on King or Queen Street,” they added.
