An Alabama prisoner serving a murder sentence has escaped to Montgomery

MONGAMERY, Alabama (WSFA) – The Alabama Corrections Department is looking for a prisoner convicted of murder who escaped on Saturday afternoon.

Kyle David, a prisoner assigned to the Montgomery-based Red Eagle Work Center, left his designated job at around 5:15 p.m., the ADOC reported. The department did not provide any details about the exact location of David’s assigned job.

The fugitive was serving a 99-year sentence for a 2000 murder sentence outside Ettowa County.

David’s classification of detention in the ADOC lists him as a “minimally excluded” prisoner, which means that the ADOC considers that such prisoners do not pose a significant risk to themselves or others and are suitable for providing details of off-site work. without the direct supervision of correctional staff. “

The classification also requires such prisoners to remain in prison clothing at all times, and work is usually only assigned to government positions (ie city, county, ADOC, ADOT, etc.). Prisoners in this detention center are usually recruited in public service centers (CWCs) with higher security facilities to support only a small number of tasks that require minimal supervision. ”

The 49-year-old David is 5’11 ″ and approximately 190 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
