NARL Marketing says an employee has fallen victim to a cybersecurity breach, but it is unknown at this time what information was taken or how it could affect North Atlantic customers.
The company says the breakthrough came on April 13, compromising an employee’s email.
While North Atlantic works to determine exactly what information has been downloaded, the email account in question contains personal information from some customers, such as names, banking, financial and contact information.
NARL Marketing, which manages the North Atlantic across the province, says it is working with a team of cybersecurity experts to investigate the aftermath of the incident, and has reported the matter to the Federal Privacy Commissioner and the RCMP.
They encourage customers to monitor their accounts by notifying financial institutions of any suspicious activity.
Those who think they may be affected by this incident are encouraged to contact communications@northatlantic.ca for more information.
