A 13-year-old boy who was seriously injured while riding his bike in Northfield died tragically. The bicycle he was riding collided with a car on Grovely Lane, Northfield, around 8.15 pm last Friday, April 22.
West Midlands police confirmed today (Sunday) that he died last night (Saturday). His family is backed by West Midlands police.
The forces say the family has asked police not to share details about their son, including his name or photo, and that they have been left to mourn in private. The driver of the car stopped and stayed put.

The forces say he continues to assist in police investigations and has not been arrested. Police are working to find out exactly what happened and are asking people to contact if they have any information.
Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes of the Serious Clashes Investigation Department said: “It is absolutely tragic that this young boy has died and we are doing everything we can to find out what happened. It is impossible to fully understand the grief that the family must experience Please respect their request for confidentiality.
“We talked to people who were at the scene, but we would still like to hear anyone who has video surveillance from the area on Friday night, footage from the dashboard or images of the bell.
