Police closed the Derby ring road tonight after a car crashed into a lamp, injuring three people. According to Derbyshire Fire and Rescue, firefighters, police and ambulance crews were at the scene at Warwick Avenue, Normanton.
An ambulance was called for the incident shortly after 7.15 pm. Three people are believed to have been killed, the Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed.

A spokesman for the Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews from Kingsway and Ascot Drive attended the RTC (road traffic) on Warwick Avenue, Normanton. A car collided with a light pole.
“There are three casualties. Teams have worked with police, ambulances and highways. Warwick Road is closed by Burton Road.”
