The leak of the Pixel Watch AMA reveals an approximate size, more

After real-life images yesterday, the person who currently owns a Pixel Watch does something like Reddit AMA (ask me anything) about the Google leak leak and reveals more practical details, such as size.

As physical hardware has now run out, curiosity is now focused on the user interface experience and what Google’s version of Wear OS 3 looks like. The only software picture we have of the leak is the “G” boot screen. This image was taken “a few weeks ago” and the Pixel Watch is now completely dead.

The Reddit user tagtech414 tried “2 qi chargers and Power Share from Samsung Fold 3” and Pixel 6 to bring it back to life, but “the charger detects it for a moment but then stops”. As it would be strange if the Pixel Watch does not support the ability to share the battery that is found on Pixel phones, Google may simply limit the charging of this prototype to specific internal power sources.

On the front of the hardware, this AMA reveals that the Pixel Watch is “approximately 1/2” thick and 1 1/2 “in diameter. This is approximately 12.7 mm and 38.1 mm, respectively. We need to get the exact size of the Pixel Watch pretty soon, as Redditor intends to measure leaks with digital calipers.

By comparison, the 40mm Galaxy Watch 4 measures 40.4 x 39.3 x 9.8mm without the health sensor, while the Apple Watch Series 7 has a depth of 10.7mm.

At the back you see (Latin) text on the perimeter, which seems to serve as a substitute during the prototype phase.

The spherical rear end is said to be “very rounded so there is less contact with the wrist”, while u / tagtech414 attributes a “very first class” feel to the Pixel Watch. They also compared the crown to the shape of the bottom cap and the button above it to the Apple Watch and said it “feels identical.”

There is a fairly large flat button above the crown and the crown clicks. Good click with low stroke. It’s a lot like the Apple Watch.

Meanwhile, there is a button where the strap connects, which seems to catch and lock the strap.

Yep! They are pressed and there seems to be a small lip under each button, so the straps need to be caught and locked. I will test when I get the tapes.

There is also a new picture of the speaker grille on the left with another hole above it for the microphone (or altimeter). Another leaked image is somewhat useful for determining the boundaries of the display and how thick the Pixel Watch frame is. It doesn’t seem too drastic.
