A homicide investigation has been launched after a man was found dead on a property in Oxford.
Thames Valley Crime Crimes officials launched an investigation today (April 24th) after a 50-year-old man was found dead in a house in Barton.
Police were called to the property around 11:30 a.m. this morning for concerns about the welfare of a man at Brom Place.

Upon arrival, officers found the man’s body with serious injuries.
It was later reported that the man had been attacked the night before and had been taken home by friends and had not sought medical help at the time and had not reported it to police.
The alleged attack took place near the shops at Underhill Circus on Saturday night.
A senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector Mike Roddy of the Thames Valley Major Crimes Unit, said: “We are at a very early stage in this investigation, but the victim appears to have suffered unreported head and face injuries. or treated by medical professionals.
“Although we have launched an investigation into the murder, we are currently open about the circumstances that led to the man’s death, and we would urge the local community not to speculate on the incident.
“However, at this early stage, we believe the victim may have been attacked by an unknown man and woman around 9.30pm on Saturday night in front of Barton’s shops and knocked to the floor.

“We know that he was taken home by friends and this morning we were alarmed after he did not open the door to those friends who were concerned about his well-being.
“I urge anyone who was in the Barton area last night between 20:30 and 22:00 and believes he witnessed the initial incident to contact the Thames Valley Police.
“You can do this by reporting online or by calling 101, citing a report on incident 858 of April 24.
“You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers 100% anonymous on 0800 555 111.
“No arrests have been made yet and of course this incident will cause concern in the local community, but we believe that the attack is an isolated incident and we are investigating the circumstances thoroughly.

“There is an increased police presence and surveillance at the scene of the original attack and at Brome Place as our investigations continue.
“I would urge anyone who has any information or concerns to speak to one of our employees at the scene.
“Although official identification has not yet been made, the man’s close relatives have been notified and are currently supported by specially trained staff.
“My thoughts and the thoughts of the Thames Valley Police are with them.”
