The couple was later convicted in Doncaster Magistrates’ Court, reports Yorkshire Live . The SUEZ regional director now said the attacks on the crew were not “unusual”, but praised South Yorkshire police for pursuing the incident.
SUEZ Regional Director John Wilkinson said: “We were shocked and sorry that a member of our crew had to endure such horrific and unprovoked abuse.

“SUEZ has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to the abuse and harassment of our employees who provide an important public service. Unfortunately, attacks on our collection teams are not uncommon, and we would like to thank the South Yorkshire Police for their support in pursuing this incident. “
Councilor Mark Hallbrook, owner of the Sustainability and Waste Portfolio, Doncaster Council, said: “We absolutely condemn the actions of those involved in this incident. There is no situation in which this behavior must be accepted or tolerated. It must be borne in mind that all staff in the workplace are treated with respect. “

PC Egan-Wyer, South Yorkshire Police, said: “It was a shocking attack on workers who were just trying to do their job. I am glad that we managed to secure such a strong case, which led to the conviction of both defendants.
“I hope that working in the community will help both of them realize how valuable these workers are and encourage them to treat them with the respect they deserve in the future. We will always strive to do our utmost to seek justice in cases like these and bring violators to justice. “
